Not all providers are 100% honest about their cost and many times customer don´t realize about the hidden cost in their contracts. Many times the base price listed on your colocation contract often doesn’t tell the whole story of value-added services and support-level expectations. Unanticipated fees can lock the business into an agreement that isn’t nearly as cost-effective as imagined.
To avoid surprises later on, always read you contract carefully and ask the provider directly about any costs or fees that weren’t covered, such as early termination or any other cost penalties. A great advice is better to start with the smallest plan and then upgrade as your business grows. Another hidden cost is setup and change fees, providers usually alter these costs each time they change or discontinue unneeded services and established new ones. We can go on and uncovered many more hidden cost like uptime and policies, network setup and fees, backups and data protection cost, and more. Our best advice is to don’t be afraid to speak your mind and ask about any part of your contract that is unclear to you.
